Aakar is an 18 × 15 inch large quilted cotton tote with a No. 5 zip across the top and one main section inside. Aakar means shape, and here the shape is a red lobster, repeated in rows over olive and white stripes, with green-and-white striped binding on the handles and edges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the large tote?
18 inches wide and 15 inches tall on the body, not counting the handles. The handle drop is 24 inches: the height from the top of the bag to the top of the handle, fully stretched, so it sits comfortably on the shoulder.

Will it carry a laptop?
It has no padded laptop sleeve. For a laptop, the Ikat Tote is built around a padded 14-inch sleeve.

Can it be washed?
Yes. Hand wash or machine wash in cold water, with the bag emptied first.

Can I take Aakar to the beach?
Yes, as a day bag. The zip keeps sand out and the cotton can be washed afterwards, but it is not waterproof, so keep wet swimwear in a separate bag.

Can it be returned?
No. Bags and pouches are non-returnable. If it arrives damaged or incorrect, submit the HOF return form within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs, and keep the piece and all packaging while the request is reviewed. See the Refund Policy.

  • Wipe with a soft dry cloth; spot clean with a barely damp cloth when needed.
  • Do not machine wash or submerge, keep the bag dry.
  • Avoid dragging the woven panel against rough or sharp surfaces.
  • Store stuffed to hold its shape, away from direct sun and damp.

Handwoven in Ahmedabad, slight variation in the ikat weave is natural to the technique.
