Between sizes?

Choose the roomier drape.

Our fabrics have minimal stretch. If your measurements sit between two sizes, choose the larger size—the added ease will usually fall more beautifully.

How to Measure

Measurements are in inches unless noted. Measure over your undergarments, not bare skin, and keep the tape parallel to the floor.

Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Waist: Measure around your natural waist, the narrowest point of your torso.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, about 8 inches below your natural waist.
Length: Measure from the top of your shoulder straight down to where you want the garment to end.

Or measure a piece you love, which is the surest way to choose: lay a kurta or dress that fits you well flat and buttoned, measure straight across just under the arms and double it, then measure from the top of the shoulder to the hem. Set those two numbers beside the bust and length in our tables.

Clothing

Every number below was measured by hand on the finished pieces, laid flat, in inches. Bust, waist and hip are all round: the measurement straight across, doubled. These are the garments' own measurements, not body sizes, so set them beside a piece you own that fits you well. Our fabrics are woven and have little stretch: most people like 2 to 4 inches of room over their bust, which is what the last column allows for (2 inches, an easy fit). Each product page shows the same numbers on its design sketch and in its fit guide, in inches or centimetres.

Nilkamal Short Kurti

Cotton, sleeveless, with a square neck and wide straps. 31 to 32 inches from the shoulder, so it ends above the knee: a short kurti for trousers and jeans.

Handwoven ikat cotton, an A-line kurta with an open camp collar and roll-up sleeves. 44 to 46 inches from the shoulder, so it falls well below the knee.

70% cotton, 30% silk: a halter-neck tunic, 39 to 41 inches long with buttons at the back, and a wide-leg bottom with an elastic waist (measured relaxed) and pockets. S to XL.

Each piece is cut and stitched by hand, so allow 2 to 3 cm (about an inch) either way.

Bangle Size Chart

The Phool Katha bangles (Haldi Phool (mustard), Kaali Katha (black), Panna Phool (dark green) and Gulnaar (magenta)) are made in 2.4 and 2.6, measured on the finished, wrapped bangle. Each Rangriti set comes in one size: 2.4 for green, maroon and black, 2.6 for orange, blue and pink. The Lariya Bangles are one size per colour too: 2.8 for red, green and yellow, 2.6 for navy blue. These are the standard Indian bangle sizes, where the figure after the point counts sixteenths of an inch. The chart below gives the inside diameter we measured on our own finished, wrapped bangles.

How to find your bangle size

The simplest method is a bangle you already wear comfortably. Measure straight across the inside, from edge to edge through the centre, and match it to the nearest size. Our bangle size chart has a fuller guide, from 2.0 to 2.12, and a printable Bangle Size Ruler (A4, print at 100%) with every size drawn at true size, so you can lay a bangle you own straight on the page.

If you have no bangle to measure, bring your thumb towards your little finger as though slipping a bangle on, and measure around the widest part of your folded hand. Divide that measurement by 3.14 to get the diameter you need.

If you sit between two sizes, choose the larger, since a rigid bangle has to pass over your knuckles, or reach us through our Contact page before ordering and we will recommend one.

What comes in a set

Phool Katha Bangles: a pair of 2 bangles, both in one colour: Haldi Phool (mustard), Kaali Katha (black), Panna Phool (dark green) or Gulnaar (magenta).
Rangriti Mirror Work Bangles: 1 kada and 4 bangles, all in one colour. Green, Maroon and Black in 2.4; Orange, Blue and Pink in 2.6.
Lariya Bangles: 1 kada and 2 bangles, all in one colour, each colour on its own page. Red, Green and Yellow in 2.8; Navy Blue in 2.6.

Lariya and Rangriti stack within their own set and are not interchangeable with one another; in size 2.6, a Phool Katha pair can be worn alongside the navy Lariya set or a Rangriti in orange, blue or pink. The Bangles & Bracelets collection has more detail, including care and stacking notes.

Stoles

Nilufar Modal Silk Stole

One size. The stole measures approximately 70 by 28 inches, long enough to drape as a dupatta over a kurta, wrap over the shoulders, or knot loosely over western wear. Modal silk adjusts naturally to the body, so no sizing is required.

Available variants: Navy Ajrakh, Crimson Kalam, Sheesh Mahal, Shahi Ajrakh, Mocha Ajrakh. Stock varies by colourway and each is produced in limited quantity — once a variant sells out, it may not return.

Earrings and Accessories

All House of Falguni earrings are one size and require no sizing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size bangle should I order: 2.4, 2.6 or 2.8?

Measure straight across the inside of a bangle you already wear comfortably, edge to edge through the centre, and match it to the nearest size, as measured inside our finished bangles: 2.3 inches for a 2.4, 2.4 inches for a 2.6, 2.6 inches for a 2.8. No bangle to measure against? Fold your hand as if slipping one on, measure around the widest part, and divide by 3.14.

What if my measurements fall between two clothing sizes?

Choose the size that leaves about 2 to 4 inches of room over your bust; between two, size up for an easier fit. Our fabrics are woven with little stretch. The fit guide on each clothing page does the sum for you: enter your bust and it points you to a size.

Is the Ibrik Shirt Dress knee-length?

Yes. It measures 33½ inches (S) to 37 inches (2XL) from the shoulder to the hem, measured by hand on the finished dresses. See the Ibrik table above, or the design sketch on its product page.
