Deep maroon ikat on a modern collar cut. The Ruby Raga Collar Kurta for women takes a heritage weave and puts it in a shape you can wear to work, to lunch, or to a family function without changing. A collar kurti for women that doubles as an ethnic top for women. The ikat print runs through the fabric rather than printed on top, and you can see the difference when you hold it. Structured enough to carry itself, relaxed enough to move in.

The Story

Ikat begins long before the loom where the yarn is resist-dyed by hand, then woven so the pattern lives inside the cloth rather than printed on top. The Ruby Raga sets that centuries-old maroon weave on a modern collar, for the woman who wants heritage she can wear to work. Handcrafted in Ahmedabad; hold it to the light and you'll see the weave, not a print.

Style It

Wash & Care
  • First wash cold and separately — handcrafted colour may release a little in the early washes, then settles.
  • Gentle hand wash, or machine wash cold in a mesh bag on a slow cycle with mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach. Do not wring or soak.
  • Dry in shade, turned inside out — direct sun fades natural and hand-dyed colour.
  • Iron on medium heat; a quick steam brings back the drape.

Handmade in small batches: a slight unevenness in print or weave is the mark of the hand that made it, not a flaw.
