What counts as handmade jewellery?

Jewellery that is shaped, wrapped and finished by hand rather than cast or stamped in bulk. Metal fittings such as hooks and posts are part of most designs, and the product page lists them for each piece.

Is all of it made of fabric?

Nearly all. The earrings, bangles and neckpiece are built on fabric, with metal fittings, ghungroo, kundan-style stones, mirrors or shell added depending on the design. Shell Saga is the exception: its drops are natural shell.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?

Close, but not identical. Each piece is cut from a different part of a length of cloth, so print placement shifts from one to the next. Broken hooks, loose components or unravelling are defects rather than variation, and our guide to handmade variation and defects explains what to check.

Which bangle size should I order?

Most of our bangles come in 2.4, 2.6 or 2.8, though not every style comes in every size. Measure a bangle you already wear and compare it with the bangle size chart before you order.

How do I care for fabric jewellery?

Do not wash or soak it. Keep perfume and hair products away from the textile, wipe metal fittings with a soft dry cloth, and store pieces separately so they keep their shape. If a piece gets damp, let it air dry away from direct heat.

Almost every piece here starts as fabric. The earrings are cut from offcuts left over from our kurtas, stoles and dresses, shaped by hand, then finished with ghungroo bells, kundan settings or mirror work. Earrings, Bangles and a Neckpiece

The fabric jhumkas carry patterned domes with silver-toned beadwork. The chandbali sits on a fabric-covered base with kundan and ghungroo detail. Studs, drops and tassels cover quieter days, and Shell Saga uses natural shell in place of cloth. On the wrist, Rangriti sets combine mirror work with ghungroo in six colours, Lariya brings leheriya print with ghungroo, and the four Phool Katha pairs are screen-printed florals. The fabric bar neckpiece hangs cowrie shells from a hand-wrapped bar.

Mirror Work and Ghungroo, Used Sparingly

A ghungroo only reads as ghungroo if the bells hang loose enough to move, so ours make a small sound as you walk. Mirror work on our pieces means a few set mirrors rather than a field of them. Both are finishing details on a fabric base, which is why the colour and print of the cloth stay the first thing you see.
