The quietest thing on the table, and somehow the one guests pick up. Table Companions are four round coasters cut from white marble, each with the stone's own grey veining running through it: no two alike, because no two pieces of marble are. They sit under the chai, the coffee, the evening glass, and keep every surface they meet unmarked.

The Story

Marble has done quiet service in Indian homes for generations, thandai glasses on marble slabs, mithai set out on stone thalis that kept everything cool. Table Companions carry that habit forward at the scale of a coaster: stone cut and polished by hand, made to take the heat of a tumbler and the sweat of a cold glass without complaint, and to look better on the table than anything that busy ever should.

Use & Care
  • Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth and dry straight away, this is what keeps the polish.
  • Blot spills as they happen. Lime, vinegar, wine and coffee can etch or stain natural stone if left sitting.
  • Use plain water or a mild pH-neutral soap. No bleach, no acidic or abrasive cleaners.
  • Dishwasher safe, though a quick hand wipe is kinder to the polish over the years.
  • Lift rather than drag across hard surfaces, and store dry and flat.
  • A food-safe stone sealer once or twice a year keeps the surface at its best.

Hand-cut from natural marble, veining, tone and weight are unique to every piece. That variation is the point.
