For editors and writers

What you need to write about the house without waiting for a reply: the facts, the images, the data and the rules we keep.

House of Falguni is a handmade label in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, founded by Deesha Goswami and named for her mother, Falguni. Deesha trained as a textile engineer and in fashion management, and the house sits where those two meet: in the distance between how a textile is made and how it is described. It makes fabric jewellery, Mashru silk and quilted bags, Ajrakh stoles, fabric diaries, hand-painted ceramics and a small line of clothing, sold online across India.

Facts

Founder

Deesha Goswami, who started the house in 2025. Diploma in Textile Manufacturing (R.C. Technical Institute), B.E. Textile Engineering (L.D. College of Engineering), Master's in Fashion Management (NIFT Gandhinagar). Her profile and editorial policy.

The name

Falguni is her mother's name, and a word for beauty and grace. Why the house carries it.

Made in

Ahmedabad, Gujarat. By hand, in small batches, by artisans in and around the city. The cloth comes from the crafts it names: Ajrakh block print from Kutch, Mashru and Ikat weaves, hand-painted ceramics and marble. How each is made.

What is made

Fabric jhumkas, chandbalis and studs; bangles; a fabric neckpiece. Mashru silk handbags, quilted totes and pouches, silk tassel bag charms. Ajrakh stoles. Fabric-covered diaries. Hand-painted ceramics and marble for the table. A small line of kurtas, dresses and co-ord sets.

Numbers

About 150 pieces live, priced ₹599 to ₹3,499 (October 2026). Earrings weigh 4 to 12 g a pair. Most pieces are made one at a time; when a print is gone, it is gone.

Making time

Recorded per design and shown on each product page as the Curator's Log: 40 to 180 minutes for a pair of earrings, 120 for the neckpiece, about five hours for a Mashru handbag. The full record is open data, below.

Where it is sold

Online, shipping across India. There is no showroom; the house appears at exhibitions and pop-ups in Ahmedabad now and then.

How we work with press

Editorial only

We don't pay for coverage, trade product for it, or send gifts to writers. If a story needs a sample for a shoot, say so: we check stock, and the piece travels and comes back, because most are made one at a time.

On the record

Questions are answered in Deesha's own words, from Ahmedabad. Product facts come from the studio's own records; market figures come from surveys we ran ourselves and publish with their method and limits.

What we don't claim

We don't call anything sustainable, natural-dyed or handloom unless we can document it, and we say so when we can't. The list is on The Craft page.

Corrections

If we got something wrong, we fix it and add a dated note saying what changed. If a piece about us has an error, we'll tell the writer once, with the record. The editorial and corrections policy.
