How it's made
Cloth, cord, clay or stone is chosen by hand for grain, weight and character before work begins.
The piece is cut, shaped or formed by an artisan, working to the exact design by hand.
Detailing, embellishment or finishing work — beading, printing, painting or stitching — is added by hand.
Every piece is checked by hand before it leaves Ahmedabad, so small natural variations are seen, not hidden.
Saanjh is the hour when the day softens and the chai comes out. These are the cups for that hour: six stackable ceramic cups in warm ivory, each hand-painted with an indigo jhalar border of hearts and blossoms, the kind of motif you'd find trimming an old haveli doorway. Made for cutting chai, filter coffee, or anything shared. They pair with the Heritage Blue Plates from the same motif family.

Saanjh means dusk, the hour the household gathers, the kettle goes on, and conversation stretches. The jhalar border painted on each cup borrows from the scalloped hangings that trim doorways during festivals, redrawn by hand in indigo. Six cups because chai is rarely drunk alone.
