A quarter plate that refuses to be background. The Heritage Blue Plates carry a deep cobalt centre ringed by hand-painted blossom medallions and a jhalar border. The same indigo motif family as the Saanjh Cups, so the two sit together like they were always a set. Sized for breakfast, snacks, mithai, or the side of a larger spread. Set of two.

The Story

India has painted blue onto clay for centuries from Jaipur's blue pottery to the indigo borders of old serving ware. The Heritage Blue Plates redraw that lineage by hand: a bold cobalt heart, a ring of blossoms, a scalloped jhalar edge. They are made to be used daily, not saved for guests, and they anchor the blue thread that runs through our Home edit.

Use & Care
  • Dishwasher safe. A gentle cycle and mild detergent keep hand-painted colour at its brightest for longest.
  • By hand, use a soft sponge. No steel wool, no abrasive scrubs, they dull the glaze and wear down fine brushwork.
  • Let a hot piece cool before it meets cold water. Sudden temperature changes are what crack ceramic.
  • Not for stovetop, oven or open flame. See Product Details above for microwave suitability on this piece.
  • Stack with a soft cloth or paper between pieces to protect painted surfaces.
  • Handle as you would any glazed piece, chips and crazing come from knocks and thermal shock, not from everyday use.

Each piece is painted and glazed by hand, so brushwork, speckle and tone shift a little from one to the next, a signature, not a flaw.
