House notes
Jaali is the carved lattice that stands in old Indian windows, turning daylight into a scatter of diamonds on the floor. This cushion borrows the motif in thread: a field of hand-tufted diamonds raised from ivory cotton, a small tassel weighting each corner. The jaali was always about light, a screen that cools a room and prints the sun across the floor. Redrawn in tufted cotton, the diamonds trade one kind of shadow for a softer one: raised thread that catches lamplight in the evening and lies flat and pale by day. It is the geometric counterpoint to the Chandni's knots; set the two side by side and a plain sofa suddenly reads considered.

Block printing and hand embroidery are done in small batches in Ahmedabad, slight unevenness in print or stitch is the mark of the hand that made it.
