The Lifafa Air Wallet is a fabric envelope, 9 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall when closed, with a flap that shuts on a press stud. Inside it there is one slot that runs the width for a phone, one money slot for notes, and two card slots side by side. That is the whole list, and this post is about what actually goes into those slots, measured, so you do not have to guess from a photo.
Short version: an iPhone 17 Pro Max fits, which is the largest phone most people in India carry, and every phone smaller than it fits too. Two cards in the slots, a few more in the money slot, notes folded once or lying flat, a passport if you need it. No coins. It weighs 42 g empty and still closes flat when it is full.
The inside, in inches
Closed, the wallet is 9 by 4.5 inches (229 by 114 mm). The phone pocket is the full width. A bank card is 3.37 by 2.125 inches, so two of them sit side by side with room to spare, which is why the two card slots are next to each other and not stacked. The money slot runs behind the card slots, the full width again, and the phone goes in behind that, against the back.
Phones by model
We have put an iPhone 17 Pro Max into it ourselves; it is the phone in our video. Every phone in this table is the same size as the Pro Max or smaller, so it fits by the same measurement. Dimensions are the manufacturers' published figures, rounded; check your own phone's spec sheet if it is not here.

The rule for a phone that is not in the table: if it is no larger than about 6.4 inches tall and 3.1 inches wide, it goes in. Foldables unfolded do not; folded, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and similar phones are smaller than a Pro Max and fit easily.

With a case on
A slim case adds a millimetre or two on each side and goes in without a thought. A rugged case or a battery case can make a Pro Max snug at the top of the slot, and a case with a chunky ring holder at the back will stop the flap closing flat. If your case is the thick kind, a phone one size down from the Pro Max is the safe bet.
Cards and notes
Two cards sit in the two slots, one each. That is the design: the two you actually use, a debit card and a credit card, or a card and a metro pass. If you carry a stack, the money slot behind them takes four or five more without complaint. Loaded with a full set of cards and a phone, it still closes flat on the stud; that is the point of the envelope shape, there is no gusset to bulge.
Indian notes are 66 mm tall and between 123 mm and 150 mm long, the ₹500 note being the longest in circulation. Folded once, any of them sits in the money slot with room to spare; the slot runs the width of the wallet, so a few lie flat too. Coins do not have a home here. There is no zip pocket on purpose, because a zip is weight and bulk, and this wallet weighs 42 g.

What else goes in
A passport is 125 by 88 mm (4.9 by 3.5 inches) and goes in the phone pocket, so for a domestic flight the wallet is the travel wallet: passport or ID at the back, boarding pass folded in the money slot, cards in front. A lipstick fits beside the phone. A pair of earrings in their pouch fits. House keys fit but will scratch a phone screen, so keep them in the bag.
The wallet as the clutch
Take it out of the bag with the phone and two cards inside and it is a slim evening clutch, 9 inches wide, which is a normal clutch width. That is why the fifteen prints are all patterned: the wallet is seen, not hidden. If you are choosing between a wallet and a clutch, we wrote about the difference here.
Frequently asked questions
Does an iPhone 17 Pro Max fit in a 9-inch envelope wallet?
Yes. We have put one in. It is the largest phone in the table above and the wallet's phone pocket is made to take it.
Does the phone fit with a case on?
With a slim case, yes. A rugged or battery case on a Pro Max can be snug; on a smaller phone it is fine. A ring holder on the back of the case will stop the flap closing flat.
How many cards does the wallet hold?
Two in the card slots, and four or five more in the money slot behind them if you need them. It closes flat either way.
Is there a coin pocket?
No. There is no zip and no coin pocket, by design. The wallet weighs 42 g and closes on one press stud.
Does a passport fit?
Yes, in the phone pocket. A passport is 4.9 by 3.5 inches; the pocket is 9 inches wide.
Will it close when it is full?
Yes. With a phone, two cards and notes inside, the flap still meets the stud. The envelope shape has no gusset, so it does not bulge.
Which phones do not fit?
Anything larger than about 6.4 by 3.1 inches, which today means a foldable opened out, a tablet, or a phone in a very thick case. Everything else in the table fits.
Can I carry it on its own, without a bag?
Yes. With the phone and cards inside it is a slim clutch, 9 inches wide. The fifteen prints are made to be seen.
The wallet comes in fifteen prints, one piece of each, at ₹1,499, in Lifafa Air Wallet. It is made by hand in our Ahmedabad studio, one curator and about three hours per wallet, and it is not returnable.
