Gulnaar Magenta Pink Floral Fabric Bangles, Set of 2

Gulnaar is the pomegranate blossom, a deep pink-red flower: white blooms on a rani-pink ground. The range is called Phool Katha, a flower's story. The floral cotton is screen printed, then one curator in our Ahmedabad studio wraps it over a plastic base, so the print runs all the way round each bangle. A pair takes about two hours. Fabric rather than metal keeps the pair soft against the wrist and quiet when it moves.

Should I order 2.4 or 2.6? Measure straight across the inside of a bangle you already wear. About 2.3 inches means 2.4; about 2.4 inches means 2.6. Sizes are measured on the finished, wrapped bangle. They are rigid, so they need to slide over your knuckles; if you sit between the two, choose 2.6. Our bangle size guide shows how to measure at home.

Is magenta the same as rani pink? Close to it. It is a deep, bright pink with a little purple in it, brighter than fuchsia and cooler than red.

Are these good bangles for daily wear? Yes. Cotton over a light plastic base is soft on the wrist and does not clink against a laptop or a desk, so they suit office days, college and errands as easily as an evening out. Keep them dry and they will last.

What is inside the fabric? A plastic bangle base, which keeps the pair light.

Can I wear them for Navratri garba? Yes. They are light enough for a long night of dancing. They have no bells, so they stay quiet; if you want the sound of ghungroo, see the Lariya or Rangriti sets.

Can they get wet? No. Water can mark the print and loosen the wrap, so take them off before washing your hands and wipe with a dry cloth.
