How it's made

Cloth, cord, clay or stone is chosen by hand for grain, weight and character before work begins.

The piece is cut, shaped or formed by an artisan, working to the exact design by hand.

Detailing, embellishment or finishing work — beading, printing, painting or stitching — is added by hand.

Every piece is checked by hand before it leaves Ahmedabad, so small natural variations are seen, not hidden.

Tulsi is the green that grows by the doorway of an Indian home, kept for luck and picked for chai. These bowls wear its colour: a pair of hand-glazed ceramic bowls in a reactive sage green that pools deeper at the rim and clears toward the base, so no two ever match exactly. Right for dip and raita, nuts and namkeen, a scoop of ice cream, or a katori portion at dinner. They sit easily beside the Coastal Bloom Plates.

The Story

Reactive glaze is a small act of trust, the potter lays it on, the kiln decides where it darkens and where it breaks pale. Tulsi leans into that: a sage green that behaves like the leaf it is named for, never flat, never quite the same twice. It brings the garden end of green to a table that already holds indigo and cobalt, and it turns a bowl of nothing-special into something worth setting down in front of someone.

Use & Care
  • Check Product Details for dishwasher and microwave suitability for this piece.
  • For hand washing, use warm water, mild detergent and a soft sponge.
  • Avoid steel wool and abrasive scrubs; they can dull glaze and hand-painted detail.
  • Let a hot piece cool before it meets cold water; sudden temperature changes can crack ceramic.
  • Do not place on a stovetop, open flame or in an oven unless Product Details specifically says it is safe.
  • Stack gently, with soft cloth or paper between painted pieces.

Small shifts in glaze, speckle and tone are natural to handmade ceramic; Product Details describes the exact finish of your piece.
