The Black chandbali keeps the traditional crescent silhouette, built on a black fabric printed with mustard flowers around a red centre, with a kundan setting at the top and a row of ghungroo bells along the drop. Because the crescent is a fabric-covered base rather than cast metal, a 1.5-inch drop still sits light on the ear. Handcrafted in Ahmedabad for weddings, festivals and every occasion that deserves a little more. Black is the graphic one: the mustard flowers stand out against it, and it pairs with ivory, mustard, red and jewel tones.
Chandbalis are one of the oldest earring forms in Indian jewellery. Ours updates the classic shape with saturated colour and the sound of ghungroo at the base: festive without the weight, comfortable over long hours, and it catches light in a way that photographs well. The same design comes in six colours, each on its own page; see them all in our earrings collection.
Wear these with a kurta and the outfit is done. The earring carries the look; everything else can be simple.
