The Ghungroo Studs in maroon: a maroon cotton centre ringed with two rows of tiny iron ghungroo bells, hand-threaded in Ahmedabad. Maroon is the festive one: deep enough for evenings, with ivory, black and gold-toned outfits. At 1.5 inches across they sit close to the ear: present, never loud.

The Story

Ghungroo are the bells classical dancers tie at their ankles, and their sound carries centuries of practice. We scaled that craft down to an everyday 1.5-inch stud, quiet enough for work and distinctive enough to be noticed. Each pair is hand-threaded in Ahmedabad in a single colour, in small batches.

Wear It

For work	With ethnic fusion workwear or the Nilkamal teal kurti.
Everyday	With a plain cotton kurta or Indo-Western separates.
For festive	With the Ruby Raga maroon kurta, maroon on maroon.

Are they heavy? No. The pair weighs about 8 g, so they are easy to wear all day.

How do they close? With a stud and a push back (earring back included).

What do maroon earrings go with? Ivory, black, gold-toned and festive reds. Maroon is the most evening-ready of the colours.
